- Should there be one or two members of a group that are either allergic or intolerant to dairy products, many dishes can be adapted so that the dairy component is removed and replaced with a kinder alternative. With some desserts this can be more problematic and an alternative dessert will be suggested.
- The whole group decides to take on a dairy-free menu, which of course shouldn't do anyone any harm for a week or so. Though not scientifically proven, most of us feel healthier for not consuming dairy based products for a while!
Whilst dairy-free products can now be found in local supermarkets, it is fair to say that there is not the range that can be found in the UK. There are many soya based products available, along with almond milk, rice milk or coconut milk. They can also be very expensive, a cost that unfortunately would have to be passed on.
